WELDING SUPERVISOR
JOB PURPOSE
To supervisor all activities related to welding construction operations operations at project construction sites
ACTIVITIES
- To supervise any preparatory work to be done on each specific site before proceeding to welding
- To ensure that the welding operations are carried out according to approved WPS and the fit up operations are perform as per WPS
- To ensure that the welds and their NDT are properly identified to be able to assess the capability of welders as per certification and on-the-job- follow up
- To assist the PJC management team to ensure compliance with Total Safety objectives throughout the life of the project
- To ensure the proper implementation of WPS on site by the CTR team
- To supervise site and yard welding QA/QC activities, such as WQPT, WQT and welding reports
- To supervise CTR inspection activities as per ITP
- To assist QA/QC SPTD in the site engineering queries during the procurement and construction phases of EPSC contracts
- To provide technical assistance and link QA/QC SPTD to CTR matters on site
- To report every and of day to QA/QC SPTD on welding progress, NC, issues, any shortcoming, problems and major defects on the fabrication
QUALIFICATIONS :
1. WELDING SUPERVISOR LEVEL 3
- Graduated from welding engineering school or certified welding inspector (minimum level II) from a recognized institution. (PCN level II recommended or COFREND equivalent), CSWIP level II accepted and ASTN level II only accepted for structural/Piping job. In house certification are not accepted
- >6 years of relevant experience in oil and gas sector (continuous activity required in the same discipline)
- Fluent in english, written and spoken
- Proficient with oil and gas International codes and standards for the discipline
2. WELDING SUPERVISOR LEVEL 2
- Graduated from welding engineering school or certified welding inspector (minimum level II) from a recognized institution. (PCN level II recommended or COFREND equivalent), CSWIP level II accepted and ASTN level II only accepted for structural/Piping job. In house certification are not accepted
- 4 - 6 years of relevant experience in oil and gas sector (continuous activity required in the same discipline)
- Fluent in english, written and spoken
- Proficient with oil and gas International codes and standards for the discipline
3. WELDING SUPERVISOR LEVEL 1
- Graduated from welding engineering school or certified welding inspector (minimum level II) from a recognized institution. (PCN level II recommended or COFREND equivalent), CSWIP level II accepted and ASTN level II only accepted for structural/Piping job. In house certification are not accepted
- 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in oil and gas sector (continuous activity required in the same discipline)
- Fluent in english, written and spoken
- Proficient with oil and gas International codes and standards for the discipline
